In the heart of Maysan Province, within the Community Police Hall, 25 participants including officials, activists, academics, and community elders gathered on August 21, 2025, to create a dialogue space focused on people and the environment.
The seminar was organized by Quba Organization for Women’s Affairs Development, a member of the Ozone Network, as part of the project Improving the Human Rights Condition and Promoting Democratic Participation, overseen by the Public Aid Organization with support from Norwegian People’s Aid and in partnership with the Ozone Network for Environmental Preservation.
The discussions centered on climate change, the greatest challenge to our present and the future of coming generations, emphasizing hope, strategies for addressing and adapting to the crisis, and the role of every individual and institution in being part of the solution.
This seminar is part of a series of fifty seminars across Iraq, aiming to plant seeds of awareness and mobilize community efforts for a fairer, more conscious Iraq, capable of protecting its environment and its people.
Change begins with an idea… and a small gathering can create a bigger future.
