On August 27, 2025, the city of Kalar in Al-Sulaymaniyah Province hosted an awareness seminar with the participation of 21 local community members, addressing a shared global concern: climate change and ways to adapt to its challenges.
The event was organized as part of the project “Improving the Human Rights Condition and Promoting Democratic Participation”, implemented by the Public Aid Organization with support from the Norwegian People’s Aid and in partnership with the Ozone Network for Environmental Preservation.
The seminar was carried out by Ayenda Organization for Environmental Protection, a member of the Ozone Network, where discussions with participants focused on tackling climate change locally and linking environmental challenges to the community’s daily life.
The seminar in Kalar is one of fifty being held across Iraq’s provinces, aiming to spark environmental awareness and shed light on the impacts of climate change to ensure a safer and more sustainable future.
