As part of the project “Improving Human Rights Condition and Enhancing Democratic Participation (EDP)”, implemented by the Public Aid Organization (PAO) with the support of the Norwegian People’s Aid (NPA), and in partnership with the Ozone Network for Environmental Protection, an awareness seminar was held in Baghdad on July 15, 2025.
The event brought together 16 participants, including academics, media professionals, government employees, and civil society activists, under the slogan:
“For the Integration of Local Community and Civil Society Efforts in Addressing Climate Change”. The seminar was organized by the Branches Foundation for Agricultural and Environmental Development, a member organization of the Ozone Network. The session focused on climate change, ways to adapt to it, and strategies for confronting its impacts at the local level.
It is worth noting that this seminar is part of a larger series of fifty seminars planned across all Iraqi provinces, aiming to raise public awareness and shed light on the challenges and impacts of climate change.
