On August 20, 2025, an awareness seminar on climate change, its challenges, and adaptation strategies was held in Halabja Province as part of the project Improving the Human Rights Condition and Promoting Democratic Participation, implemented by the Public Aid Organization with support from the Norwegian People’s Aid and in partnership with the Ozone Network for Environmental Preservation.
The seminar brought together 20 participants from government departments, the private sector, civil society organizations, as well as academics and community leaders.
It was organized by Nawi Organization for Environmental and Women’s Rights Protection, a member of the Ozone Network in Halabja, focusing on climate change, ways to address it, and adaptation strategies.
This seminar is one of fifty being organized across Iraq’s provinces to highlight climate change and promote community awareness of its impacts.
