As part of the project “Improving Human Rights Condition and Enhancing Democratic Participation (EDP)”, implemented by the Public Aid Organization (PAO) with the support of the Norwegian People’s Aid, and in partnership with the Ozone Network for Environmental Preservation, An awareness seminar on climate change was held in Kirkuk Governorate on July 7, 2025, with the participation of 42 individuals, including academics, media professionals, government employees, and civil society activists.
The seminar was organized by the Yemen Foundation for Humanitarian Affairs, one of the member organizations of the Ozone Network. The seminar addressed the topic of climate change, ways to confront it, and methods of adaptation. It is worth noting that this seminar is part of a series of 50 awareness seminars to be held across all Iraqi governorates, with the aim of shedding light on the phenomenon of climate change and enhancing community awareness of it.
