In Babylon, 23 participants from government institutions, the private sector, academics, community leaders, and civil society organizations gathered at the Directorate of Youth and Sports Hall to address a pressing question: How can we confront the climate change knocking at our doors?
The meeting was more than a traditional seminar; it was a collective awareness journey organized by Mizan Center for Rule of Law Support, a member of the Ozone Network, as part of the project “Improving the Human Rights Condition and Promoting Democratic Participation”, implemented by the Public Aid Organization with support from Norwegian People’s Aid.
Participants exchanged ideas on adaptation strategies, ways to address climate change, and the responsibilities of individuals and institutions in protecting the environment, emphasizing that climate change is not a distant scientific issue but a reality affecting lives and threatening future generations.
This seminar is one of fifty awareness stations across Iraq, aiming to raise awareness and open paths for dialogue and joint action.
From Babylon, the message is clear: When we unite, we can turn climate challenges into opportunities for progress and sustainable life.
