Fallujah Hosts an Awareness Seminar to Face Climate Change: A Step towards Adaptation and Environmental Awareness

Within the framework of the project” Improving Human Rights Conditions and Enhancing democratic participation”, implemented by the Public Aid Organization with the support of the Norwegian People’s Aid Organization, and in partnership with the Ozone Network for Environmental Preservation, an awareness seminar was organized in the city of Fallujah, Anbar governorate, on August 16, 2025.
The seminar, which was attended by 18 representatives of government and service departments, private sector companies specialized in financing and development investment, as well as heads of civil society organizations, academics, and local community leaders, was a valuable opportunity to discuss one of the most important challenges facing the region and the world: climate change.
Seven Sanabel Relief and Development Organization, a member of the ozone network, took over the task of implementing the symposium, which focused on ways to confront and adapt to climate change. The main objective of the seminar was to raise awareness about the impacts of climate change on the environment and society, and to provide practical solutions that help reduce these impacts.
This seminar is one of 50 seminars to be held in all Iraqi governorates, as part of ongoing efforts to focus on environmental and climate issues, and to build a culture of awareness for the local community on how to adapt to these increasing environmental challenges.
