As part of the project “Improving Human Rights Conditions and Enhancing Democratic Participation,” implemented by Public Aid Organization with the support of the Norwegian People’s Aid, a specialized training workshop was launched on Monday, September 22, 2025, in cooperation with the Environmental Protection and Improvement Board in the Kurdistan Region.
The two-day workshop focuses on strengthening the legislative framework for environmental protection and tackling climate change. Its program includes reviewing the current laws, exploring mechanisms for amending them to better align with today’s realities, and examining ways to integrate climate change challenges and adaptation strategies into the region’s legal and policy frameworks.
This workshop represents a significant step toward harmonizing environmental legislation with the growing climate challenges and reaffirms the role of law as a key tool for protecting both people and the environment.
