Members of the Basra Principles delegation—Dr. Zaidan Khalaf, Human Rights Advisor to the Prime Minister; Niran Aziz, representing the Iraqi Bar Association; and Hogr Chato, President of the Public Aid Organization—held a meeting at the National Security Advisory with Dr. Shorsh Khalid Saeed, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Dr. Fadhil Rahim, Head of the Department of International Organizations and Conferences, along with their accompanying delegation.
The meeting focused on discussing mechanisms for promoting the Basra Principles throughout 2026, with the aim of strengthening their national and international presence and supporting Iraq’s institutional and human rights efforts.
