As part of the project “Improving Human Rights Conditions and Enhancing Democratic Participation”, implemented by the Public Aid Organization with support from the Norwegian People’s Aid and in partnership with the Ozone Network for Environmental Protection, an awareness session was held in Kirkuk on June 25, 2025.
The session was attended by 23 participants, including academics, media professionals, government employees, and civil society activists. It was organized by Yaman Foundation for Humanitarian Affairs, one of the member organizations of the Ozone Network.
The session focused on climate change, how to confront it, and ways to adapt, within ongoing efforts to shed light on this pressing environmental issue and raise public awareness.
It is worth noting that this session is part of a series of 50 awareness sessions to be held across all Iraqi governorates, aiming to highlight the phenomenon of climate change and promote community-level awareness about it.
