Within the framework of the Amal Project, which aims to Strengthen Protection Procedures and provide new opportunities for the entire community in the governorates of Dohuk, Nineveh, Kirkuk, and Salah al-Din, the Office of the Public Aid Organization in Salah al-Din, Tuz Khurmatu district, organized an important awareness session within the initiative to protect students from the risks of harassment. The meeting brought together the principals of middle and preparatory schools for girls, along with community and media activists, a representative of the Tuz education department, a Tuz police station officer, and the community police team, with the active participation of the COPI team
The session focused on understanding the causes of harassment, its forms, and ways to reduce it, and the attendees discussed ways to coordinate with the security authorities to secure the perimeter of schools and provide a safe environment for students. Colonel Hussein expressed his full readiness to provide protective vehicles in front of private schools for girls as an immediate step, reflecting responsible interaction with the needs of the educational community
The session included testimonies and real-life stories from inside the schools that highlighted cases of harassment that were dealt with and controlled by joint efforts between the administration and the security authorities.
