PAO Empowers Girls in Nineveh Through Vocational Sewing Training and Equipment Support

In a remarkable step toward enhancing practical education and empowering young girls with essential life and vocational skills, the Public Aid Organization (PAO) launched a new set of activities under the “Education Cannot Wait (ECW)” project in accelerated learning schools across Nineveh Governorate.

On Thursday, September 18, 2025, PAO provided accelerated learning schools affiliated with the Literacy Department with a set of sewing machines and essential materials to establish hands-on training environments for students. This initiative paved the way for the launch of a specialized sewing training program, which officially began on September 22, 2025, coinciding with the start of the 2025–2026 academic year.

The program aims to equip girls with practical skills that enhance their self-reliance and prepare them for future employment, by integrating academic learning with vocational education. It also seeks to strengthen their economic independence and foster active participation in their communities.

PAO’s team emphasized that these efforts represent a meaningful step toward advancing quality education in Nineveh, offering students real opportunities to gain professional skills that support a brighter and more sustainable future, one that combines knowledge with practice.
