Strengthening Governance and Institutional Capacity of Iraqi Organizations

As part of the Institutional Development Program for Non-Governmental Organizations, implemented by the Public Aid Organization (PAO) in partnership with the NGO Directorate, an online training session was held on Saturday, October 25, 2025, titled “Governance in Non-Governmental Organizations.”

The training brought together representatives from 36 organizations, including those from the Prisoners’ Justice Network and the Ozone Network for Environmental Preservation, both of which had previously undergone an institutional assessment process under the program.

This initiative aims to strengthen the capacities of NGOs operating in Iraq and enhance their performance to ensure transparency, independence, and sustainability in their work. It also seeks to support organizations in accessing sustainable funding sources and implementing effective community-driven activities that contribute to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and building a more just and cohesive society.
