On July 22, 2025, the city of Sulaymaniyah hosted an awareness seminar on climate change, with the participation of 37 individuals from the local community. The seminar was part of the activities of the project (Improving the Human Rights Condition and Enhancing the Democracy Participated EDP), implemented by the Public Aid Organization with support from the Norwegian People’s Aid and in partnership with the Ozone Network for Environmental Preservation.
The seminar was carried out by the Green Kurdistan Association, one of the member organizations of the Ozone Network. It shed light on the challenges associated with climate change and discussed ways to address them and mechanisms for adapting to their environmental and social impacts.
This seminar is part of a series of fifty seminars being organized across various Iraqi provinces, aiming to raise environmental awareness and encourage local communities to actively engage with climate issues.
