In a step to enhance community awareness of the role of media in addressing environmental challenges, Sulaymaniyah hosted an awareness seminar on September 6, 2025, within the framework of the project “Improving Human Rights Condition and Enhancing Democratic Participation,” implemented by the Public Aid Organization (PAO) with support from the Norwegian People’s Aid (NPA), and in partnership with the Ozone Network for Environmental Preservation.
The seminar, implemented by Ayanda for Environmental Protection, a member of the Ozone Network, was attended by 13 representatives from media outlets and institutions. It focused on the issue of climate change, ways to confront it, and strategies for adaptation, while emphasizing the vital role of media in spreading knowledge and encouraging community participation in addressing this global challenge.
This event is part of a series of 50 seminars to be organized across Iraqi provinces, aimed at highlighting climate change and creating a sustainable platform for awareness and community engagement.
