In response to the initiative of the youth team launched by the Public Aid Organization as part of the activities of the “Enhancing Democracy Program” to expedite the amendment of the law on Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances No. 50 of 2017, the chairman of the committee on combating narcotic drugs and Psychotropic Substances met in the Iraqi parliament with representatives of the organization’s office in Baghdad.
The meeting discussed the proposals to amend the law, and reviewed the stages of the initiative’s progress, focusing on the legislative, supervisory, and awareness-raising efforts necessary to reach a law that reflects the best standards.
