On September 9, 2025, Thi Qar Province hosted an awareness seminar as part of the project “Improving Human Rights Conditions and Enhancing Democratic Participation”, implemented by the Public Aid Organization with the support of the Norwegian People’s Aid and in partnership with the Ozone Network for Environmental Preservation.
The seminar, organized by the Khamail Foundation for Development and Combating Violence Against Women a member of the Ozone Network in the province, gathered 22 local community members. Discussions centered on climate change, its risks, adaptation strategies, and the vital role of local communities in addressing its impacts.
This event is part of a series of 50 seminars to be held across Iraq, aiming to strengthen public awareness, foster community dialogue on climate change, and encourage active participation in tackling environmental challenges.
