In a significant step toward building trust and promoting community harmony, the Public Aid Organization (PAO) held three simultaneous peer-learning sessions on Thursday, September 18, 2025, as part of the project “Enhancing Social Cohesion through Local Peace Committees,” funded by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
The sessions took place in Al-Shirqat District in Salah al-Din, and in Qayyarah Subdistrict and West Mosul in Ninewa Governorate, bringing together members of Local Peace Committees to share their field experiences and exchange practical insights on strengthening social cohesion.
The meetings focused on sharing lessons learned and best practices gained from the specialized training held in Erbil earlier in September, while also discussing challenges faced on the ground and exploring opportunities to further develop community-driven initiatives.
