As part of the project Improving the Human Rights Condition and Promoting Democratic Participation, implemented by the Public Aid Organization with support from the Norwegian People’s Aid and in partnership with the Ozone Network for Environmental Preservation, an awareness seminar was held in Dhi Qar Province on August 27, 2025, under the slogan: “For the Synergy of Local Community and Civil Society Efforts in Confronting Climate Change.”
The seminar was attended by 33 figures from various sectors, including the Head of the Agriculture and Marshes Committee in the Dhi Qar Provincial Council, a representative of the Governorate, the Governor’s Advisor for Citizen Affairs, a representative of the Dhi Qar Environment Directorate, academics, a representative of the Water and Agriculture Affairs Council, environmental activists, along with representatives of governmental departments from different sectors and civil society organizations.
It was organized by the Marshes Cultural Center, a member of the Ozone Network for Environmental Preservation, and focused on climate change, its impacts, and adaptation strategies.
