The Public Aid Organization conducted a training in Basra Governorate from April 24 to 25, 2026, aimed at building the capacities of active civil society groups. This training was part of the project “Improving the Human Rights Situation and Enhancing Democratic Participation,” funded by the Norwegian People’s Aid.
The training brought together representatives from seven civil society organizations and focused on enhancing collaborative work skills, strengthening mechanisms for civic participation, and increasing organizations’ ability to influence decision-making processes.
It also addressed improving communication channels between citizens and local authorities, contributing to greater transparency, reinforcing democratic participation principles, and supporting the role of civil society in driving positive and sustainable change.
