As part of the “Green Education to Strengthen Climate Resilience in Iraq” program, and through a partnership between the Public Aid Organization (PAO), the French organization Leo Lagrange, and the French Development Agency (AFD), a specialized training course titled “Strengthening Climate Resilience through Non-Formal Education for Volunteer Groups in Nineveh” was held from 23 to 27 June 2026 at the Cyan Hotel in Erbil.
The course aimed to prepare volunteers and equip them with the skills and methods needed to spread environmental awareness, and to strengthen the capacity of local communities in Nineveh to face the challenges of climate change through non-formal education tools.

Participants completed the course and received their certificates, marking a meaningful step toward building a volunteer corps capable of creating real impact within their communities. This training reflects the partnership’s commitment to embedding a culture of climate resilience from the grassroots level, through genuine investment in the capacities of volunteers as sustainable agents of change in Nineveh.
