PAO Hosts Coordination Meeting to Advance Cultural Heritage Preservation in Ninewa

On Wednesday, 15 July 2026, the Public Aid Organization (PAO) welcomed Professor Dr. Yasmin Abdulkarim Ali, Dean of the College of Archaeology at the University of Mosul, to its headquarters in Erbil for a coordination meeting attended by representatives from PAO’s Programs Department and a British heritage expert.

The meeting focused on exploring opportunities for collaboration in the fields of archaeology and cultural heritage preservation, with particular emphasis on protecting archaeological sites and safeguarding the rich cultural heritage of Ninewa Governorate.

Participants discussed the importance of strengthening institutional partnerships, fostering knowledge exchange, and developing specialized initiatives that support the sustainable conservation of Iraq’s archaeological and cultural heritage.

The meeting reflects PAO’s ongoing commitment to working with academic institutions and international experts to preserve Iraq’s cultural legacy and promote collaborative efforts that contribute to the protection of its historical heritage.
