The Public Aid Organization in Basra governorate held a dialogue session on (The Role of Civil Society Organizations in Preserving and Promoting Human Rights in the Personal Status Law 188 of 1959) within the activities of the Enhancing Democracy project on Tuesday, September 10, 2024 .
They discussed the proposed amendments to the law and their negative effects on national unity and the rights of women and children, and as a result, a joint statement was issued rejecting the proposed amendments to the Personal Status Law 188 of 1959 .
