The Public Aid Organization held a simulation session within the activates of the Enhancing Democracy program in Baghdad governorate on Tuesday, August 6, 2024.
With the participation of representatives of Networks of Civil Society organizations who submitted shadow reports and the participation of (the Head and Members of the Delegation of the Iraqi government that will participate in the presentation of the report of the committee on the Elimination of racial Discrimination).
The session is related to the report of the International Convention on the elimination of all forms of racial discrimination, which is the combined report of the two periodic reports (twenty-sixth and twenty – seventh) submitted by Iraq.
the session aimed to strengthen the mechanisms of cooperation with the government delegation participating in the contractual mechanism on August 14 and 15, 2024 in Geneva with civil society institutions by asking questions expected by the representatives of the networks who submitted shadow reports to the concerned committee. it is recalled that this session is a simulation of what is actually happening in Geneva, which is a new experience.
