Completion of HEART Training Workshop to Strengthen Psychosocial Support Skills among Project Staff in Kawergosk and Darashakran Camps

As part of the project “A Holistic Initiative for Safe Water, Environmental Health, and Mental Health and Psychosocial Well-being among Syrian Refugees in Iraq,” a two-day training workshop on the HEART (Healing and Education through Arts) program was conducted in coordination and collaboration with Save the Children International at the Erbil Office from 24–25 May 2026.

The training was attended by 10 project staff members working in Kawergosk and Darashakran refugee camps. The workshop aimed to strengthen participants’ capacities in using arts-based approaches as effective tools for mental health and psychosocial support, particularly in refugee and displacement settings.

The training included both theoretical and practical sessions focusing on integrating arts into psychosocial support activities, as well as enhancing staff skills in working with children and adolescents in a manner that addresses their psychological and social needs.

At the end of the workshop, certificates of participation were awarded to all trainees in recognition of their active engagement and successful completion of the training program.
