In preparation for the UPR of the Republic of Iraq, which will be presented at the beginning of 2025, the Public Aid Organization held a consultative and coordination meeting with the director of the human rights department at the Iraqi Ministry of Justice with the participation of a group of non-governmental organizations with consultative status at the ECOSOC on Thursday, September 5, 2024. With the involvement of the Prime Minister’s adviser for Human Rights Zeidan Khalaf and a representative of the UNAMI The meeting aimed to present the mechanism of the government’s preparation of the report, how to monitor and recommend, strengthen ways of partnership and cooperation with government institutions, and express the opinion of organizations on the report, especially regarding monitoring, recommendations, and implementation mechanism.
