The Public Aid Organization in Kirkuk governorate, in cooperation with the British Council, organized a workshop on the grounds of the Kirkuk Provincial Council Hall on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, as part of the activities of the youth bonding project implemented in the governorates of Kirkuk, Sulaymaniyah, Erbil, and Nineveh.
The workshop was opened by the speech of the chairman of the Kirkuk Provincial Council, Mr. M. Mohammed al-Hafez, who stressed the importance of the role of youth in facing societal challenges, followed by a comprehensive presentation on the idea of the project, its goals, and its future steps.
The results of a survey prepared by young people in Kirkuk were reviewed, where the results revealed seven major issues affecting young people, including Unemployment, Climate Change, Intolerance to the Other, Personal Freedom, Drugs, Electronic Extortion, and Illegal Immigration.
At the end of the workshop, unemployment and climate change were voted as the two most prominent problems to work on through future initiatives within the project.
