In order to understand the challenges and initial needs of the prison systems in Iraq, training (Enhancing the Skills of Prison Administrations on Monitoring Mechanisms for Juvenile Detention Centers in Iraq) was provided to the prison administration in Basra governorate between August 12 and 15, 2024 .
The aim of the training is to build the capabilities of employees and to identify monitoring tools and their types .
These activities are part of the activities of the project (Promote the Right to Fair Trials, Improvement of Detention Conditions and Abolishing Torture) implemented by the Public Aid Organization in partnership with the NPA and the IOL with the support of the European Union .
