As part of the project “Improving Human Rights Conditions and Enhancing Democratic Participation”, implemented by Public Aid Organization with the support of the Norwegian People’s Aid and in partnership with the Ozone Network for Environmental Preservation, a remarkable awareness seminar was held in Basra on August 28, 2025.
The seminar, organized by Al-Ghadeer Agricultural Foundation – a member of the Ozone Network – brought together 21 local community members from Najaf to engage in dialogue on one of the most pressing challenges of our time: climate change. Participants discussed its impacts, the challenges it poses, and strategies for adaptation, highlighting that addressing this global crisis begins with genuine community awareness.
This event is part of a broader series of 50 seminars scheduled to take place across different Iraqi provinces, aiming to raise awareness about climate change and to create interactive spaces for community engagement and collective action.
