As part of ongoing efforts to promote environmental and community awareness, an awareness seminar on climate change was held in Erbil on July 21, 2025, with the participation of 15 representatives from civil society organizations. The seminar is part of the activities of the project “Improving the Human Rights Condition and Enhancing Democratic Participation EDP” implemented by the Public Aid Organization with the support of Norwegian People’s Aid and in partnership with the Ozone Network for Environmental Preservation.
Organized in cooperation with the Environmental Protection and Improvement Board in Erbil, the seminar also brought together member organizations of the Ozone Network, including Khorsak Organization and the Meteorological Organization for Natural Disasters. The event addressed key challenges related to climate change, emphasizing local adaptation strategies and the role of communities in responding to this pressing issue. This seminar is one of a planned series of 50 awareness sessions to be conducted across various Iraqi provinces, aimed at deepening understanding of climate change impacts and encouraging community-level action.
