Under the patronage of His Excellency the Prime Minister, Engineer Mohammed Shia’ Al-Sudani, the conference titled “The Role of Civil Society in the Integrated Process of Addressing the Impacts of Climate Change” was launched today in Basra. The conference is implemented by the Public Aid Organization (PAO) within the program “Improving the Human Rights Conditions and Enhancing Democratic Participation,” with support from the Norwegian People’s Aid.
On its first day, the conference opens as a space for dialogue and integration among civil society actors, aiming to lay the foundations for an effective response to climate challenges and to strengthen the role of civil society as a key partner in environmental protection and the development of sustainable policies. The conference will continue over two days and will include specialized discussions and practical insights aimed at transforming climate awareness into tangible action on the ground.
