Baghdad Discusses the Challenges Facing Women, Youth, and Marginalized Groups in Iraq

On Wednesday, 26 August 2026, the Public Aid Organization discussed, during a community meeting held in Baghdad under the project “Improving Human Rights Conditions and Enhancing Democratic Participation” the findings of a research study highlighting the political, social, and economic challenges facing women, youth, and marginalized groups in Iraq.

The meeting shed light on what the study identified as the key challenges affecting these groups’ participation in public life, and their access to rights, resources, and spaces for decision-making, opening the door to a broader discussion on ways to strengthen community participation. The meeting was attended by representatives of government bodies, civil society organizations, and the private sector, alongside actors and stakeholders engaged in community affairs.
