In cooperation with the executive body for literacy in the Iraqi Ministry of Education, the Public Aid organization held the first conference for teaching life skills, which included a comprehensive training workshop and an explanation of the relevant plans, on Tuesday, November 12, 2024. The meeting was attended by the head of the executive authority for literacy, Dr. Muzahem al-Samarrai, the directors of literacy centers and accelerated education schools from various Iraqi governorates, in addition to representatives of the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs.
The conference aimed to rehabilitate and develop the capabilities of educational cadres through the training centers of the ministry, as well as to strengthen the effective partnership with the Ministry of Justice to help adult and juvenile inmates, through their scientific and practical rehabilitation and help them integrate into society after they are released from correctional institutions. Emphasis was also placed on the important role of civil society organizations in supporting strategic projects and developing life skills education workshops, to enhance the ability of individuals to face life and social challenges more effectively.
