Within the activities of the Fair Trials Promotion project, the Public Aid organization carried out training for juvenile prison cadres in the Nineveh governorate on Thursday, November 14, 2024, on the Istanbul Protocol. The training included several main stages, where the life of the project was reviewed through the screening of a short film, followed by a public discussion about the reality of Corrections in Iraq, within the framework of the standard rules for the treatment of prisoners (Mandela Rules). Special emphasis was also placed on codes of health professional conduct, aimed at improving the humane treatment of prisoners in line with international human rights standards.

These efforts come within the framework of the project to” Promote the Right to Fair Trials, Improve Detention Conditions, and Abolishing Torture””, implemented by the PAO in partnership with the NPA organization and the IOL organization, with the support and funding of the European Union.
