Kirkuk –August 19, 2025
Kirkuk marked the starting point for the Community Cohesion and Reintegration Project in the post-conflict phase, as the Public Aid (PAO) Organization, with support from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), held the first half-day workshop for local city councils. The workshop brought together community representatives to consult on key priorities, needs, and challenges.
The event engaged Local Peace Committees from four areas—Kirkuk Center, Hawija, Amerli, and Tuz Khurmatu—across Kirkuk and Salah al-Din governorates. Several community proposals and initiatives were presented, from which four key initiatives were selected to undergo further study and development in the next stage, paving the way for practical local solutions that strengthen cohesion and open pathways toward sustainable stability.
