As part of the Enhancing Democracy and Human Rights Program, which the Public Aid Organization implements with support from the Norwegian People’s Aid organization, a planning session took place in the Basrah governorate on December 19, 2024. The session was attended by the Prime Minister’s Advisor for Human Rights. During this meeting, a preliminary document titled the “Basra Document” was discussed, aimed at providing equitable solutions to address climate change by focusing on adaptation to its effects and mitigation efforts.
The meeting concluded with the developing of a roadmap to transform this document into a global initiative that comprehensively and fairly addresses the challenges posed by climate change.
