Within the framework of the Enhancing Democracy program implemented by the Public Aid Organization with the support of the NPA organization, emphasis was placed on countering climate change and strengthening the role of civil society in this area. Following this trend, a network of non-governmental organizations concerned with the environment and climate change was established under the “Ozone Network for Environmental Preservation”.
In this context, the network held its first conference on December 6, 2024, in Erbil, during which the internal regulations of the network and the strategic plan were approved, in addition to electing a new board of directors. The council aims to activate the role of the network in addressing the challenges of climate change. An action plan was also developed for the year 2025, which focuses on strengthening and expanding the network and effective action on the issue of climate change.
