Within the framework of the project “Promoting the Right to Fair Trials, Improving Conditions of Detention and Abolishing Torture”, the Public Aid organization carried out training for representatives of civil society organizations on how to monitor and document human rights violations in prisons and write reports in Erbil governorate .
This training was held during the period from 4 to 6 June 2024, where it dealt with the importance of adhering to the concepts of human rights in accordance with international conventions and treaties.
The training also focused on national and international protection mechanisms, with emphasis on model rules for the treatment of prisoners.
It is worth mentioning that this project is being implemented in a several Iraqi governorates in partnership with IOL and NPA with the support of the European Union .
