The Public Aid Organization on Sunday 28 April 2024 visits the Human Rights Committee Parliamentary in Iraqi House Parliament represented by Mr. Hogr Chato and the delegation accompanying him .
A meeting was held with the chairman of the committee, Mr. Arshad Al-Salehi, and MP Nisan Zair. Discussions were held regarding the situation of children accompanying female prisoners, focusing on establishing shelters for them in all provinces under the auspices of the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, as well as the necessity of amending laws related to children. Mr. Hogr noted the existence of effective programs and specialized annual reports on disabled individuals and foreigners in prisons, emphasizing the importance of Iraq joining the Optional Protocol to the Convention against Torture.
